World Class Fight Promotions is proud to welcome the international spotlight (Univision) to Pittsburgh on Friday, May 30, 2008, when popular Champion Monty Meza-Clay (27W-1L, 18KO) faces Mexican Champion Omar Lizarraga (17W-4L-1D, 12KO) in the heated Main Event at The Pittsburgh ExpoMart. This is the first time that international television has been attracted to travel to Pittsburgh in coverage of a boxing event. Pittsburgh's Meza-Clay is the highest world ranked Featherweight (WBO #2, IBF #7, WBA #9) from the United States. Meza-Clay comes off a thrilling 7th round knockout victory over recent IBF World Champion Eric Aiken in February on ESPN2. Lizarraga of Tijuana, Mexico comes to the Steel City hungry to take “The Champ” out after a highly disputed draw in his last bout when he challenged for the IBA Title.

This exciting event will include an 8-Round co-feature between Philadelphia’s Latif Mundy (7W-0L, 2KO) and George Rivera (8W-1L, 3KO) and an action-packed under card consisting of rising national prospects Jesse Lubash (5W-0L, 3KO) and Mike "Steel City" Strauss (5W-0L, 3KO) taking on rugged opponents, popular Butler Heavyweight Jim Emrick (3W-1L-1D, 2KO), a tri-state grudge match between crowd pleasing “Lightning” Rod Salka (5W-0L, 2KO) and Jose “The Prince” Caraballo (5W-2L, 1KO), and more as well as celebrity appearances.
