Dr. Joseph Fusia
Practiced locally for 45 years

Dr. Joseph F. Fusia, 80, of Oakmont, died May 8, 2008, at UPMC St. Margaret, Aspinwall.

Dr. Fusia was a physician in Penn Hills for 45 years and the school doctor for the Penn Hills and Riverview districts for more than 20 years.

He graduated from Oakmont High School in 1945 and enlisted in the Navy. He earned a bachelor's degree from University of Pittsburgh in 1950, then went on to earn his medical degree from University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 1954.

Dr. Fusia embarked on a career in family medicine, working in his father's practice for a year before establishing his own practice with his partner, Dr. Ted Ferguson.

After retiring in 1997, he remained active in the community as a member of Elks and Kiwanis clubs and Oakmont Presbyterian Church, where he was involved in the session and bell choir.

Dr. Fusia played accordion, piano, harmonica and bagpipes. He enjoyed golf, trapshooting, fishing, boating and water-skiing while vacationing at Lake Chautauqua, N.Y.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Donald and Aileen Larson Fusia; and brothers, Donald Jr. and Jack Fusia.

Surviving are his wife, Janet Ramond Fusia; children, Megan Wentland and her husband, Barry, of York, Tod Fusia and his wife, Maureen, of Tampa, Fla., and Tyler Fusia and his wife, Joan, of Oakmont; brothers, Tom and Edward Fusia; sister-in-law, Elisabeth Fusia; and eight grandchildren..

Friends and family were received at English Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Oakmont. A service was held in Oakmont Presbyterian Church.

Anna Ingagliato
Native of Italy

Anna Ingagliato, 77, of Penn Hills, died April 28, 2008, in UPMC Shadyside.

Born in Italy, she was the daughter of Louis and Maria Bernardon Longo.

Mrs. Ingagliato was a Sears employee for 15 years. A 46-year member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Penn Hills, she was active in church activities, including volunteering at the annual fair for many years. Her greatest joy came from watching her grandchildren grow and supporting their sports and dance pursuits.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Llewellyn.

Surviving are her husband, Guy Ingagliato Sr.; son, Guy Ingagliato Jr. and his wife, Carmella, of Penn Hills; brother, Reno Longo and his wife, Carol; and two grandchildren.

Visitation was at William F. Gross Funeral Home, Penn Hills. Mass was celebrated in St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. Interment was at Good Shepherd Cemetery, Monroeville.

Adolph Vidak
Owned bottling firm

Adolph J. Vidak, 78, of Penn Hills, died May 6, 2008.

Mr. Vidak was the owner of Three Star Bottling in Verona for many years.

His wife, Jenny Berg Vidak, preceded him in death.

Surviving are his children, Laura Small and her husband, William, of Penn Hills, Jon Vidak and his wife, Rebecca, of Forest Hills and Julian Vidak and his wife, Terri, of South Fayette; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Private arrangements were handled by English Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., Oakmont.

Mary Clark
Married 45 years

Mary Louise "Valerie" Hollinger Clark, 85, of Plum, formerly of Verona, died May 6, 2008.

A proud foster parent through Catholic Charities and an active member of Plum Senior Citizens Center, Mrs. Clark enjoyed bowling and playing cards.

Preceding her in death were her husband of 45 years, Joseph Clark Sr.; and siblings, Eleanor Dudczak, Jack, Richard and Edward Hollinger and Alice Mialki.

She is survived by her children, Joseph Clark Jr. and his wife, Libby, of Plum, Gerald Clark and his wife, Debbie, of Harmar, Diana Denney and her husband, Albert, of Rillton and Susan Antonucci and her husband, Ralph, Robin Foreack and her husband, Denny, and Timothy Clark and his wife, Bobbi, all of Plum; sisters, Theresa Lasher, Dorothy Murray and Ann Bigenho; brother, Theodore Hollinger; sister-in-law, Shirley VanTine; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Friends and family were received at Soxman Funeral Homes, Roth Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. John the Baptist Church.

George Rudolph
Pittsburgh native

George R. "Ray" Rudolph, 52, of Penn Hills, died April 14, 2008.

Born in Pittsburgh, he was the son of George E. Rudolph and the late Mary Rudolph.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his sister, Margaret Kolodick.

Paul Elk
Moved to Florida

Paul F. Elk, 70, of Tampa, Fla., formerly of Penn Hills, died May 6, 2008.

An Army veteran, he retired after 50 years of service as an employee of Mine Safety Appliance Co. Inc.

Surviving are his daughter, Carrie Elk; nieces, Trisha Elk and Nancy Slagle; brother, Harold Elk of Plum; and a granddaughter.

Friends were received at Soxman Funeral Homes, Roth Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. John the Baptist Church.

Anna Carr
Married 57 years

Anna M. Francetich Carr, of Penn Hills, died May 10, 2008.

Mrs. Carr was a member of St. Joseph Church in Verona and Women of the Moose.

Her daughter, Margaret Jean Carr, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, William Carr; daughters, Karen Ann Carrr and her fiance, Jerry Leon, Deborah Marie Fisher and her husband, Robert, and Heidi Morra and her husband, Wayne; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

LaVern Randour
Grandmother of five

LaVern Randour, 83, of Penn Hills, died May 5, 2008.

Mrs. Randour was a member of Ladies of Charity at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Verona.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Hubert Randour; and parents, Harry and Jeanette York.

Surviving are her children, Marcia Corcoran of Plum and Paul Randour of Penn Hills; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Robert Danielson
Vietnam War veteran

Robert W. Danielson, 57, of Penn Hills, died May 9, 2008.

He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Charles Sr. and Mabel Catley Danielson; and brother, Charles Danielson.

Surviving are his wife, Marie Rickard; father- and mother-in-law, William and Josephine Napolitano Rickard; and pets, Cody, Scooter and Laddie.

Harry Kuchinski
Grandfather of six

Harry T. Kuchinski, 73, of Penn Hills, died May 11, 2008.

Surviving are his wife, Marie Kuchinski; children, Carrie Kuchinski, Julie Nicklas and her husband, Steven, and the Rev. Brett Kuchinski and his wife, Janet; and six grandchildren.

Emily Detweiler
Grandmother of six

Emily H. "Emmy" (Hanson) Detweiler, 87, of Penn Hills, died May 8, 2008 in St. Margaret Seneca Place.

She was the daughter of Gus and Elizabeth Boyd Hanson.

Mrs. Detweiler was a medical aide for Penn Plum Medical and a member of United Presbyterian Church of Universal.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Robert A. Detweiler Sr.; brother, Robert Hanson; and her parents.

Surviving are her children, Linda Battisti, Susan Pasquarelli, Robert Detweiler Jr. and Timothy Detweiler Sr.; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; and best friends, Ann Cowart and Jean Purdy.

Terrence Kelly
Moved to Oakmont

Terrence J. "Terry" Kelly, 60, of Oakmont, formerly of Penn Hills, died May 9, 2008, at West Penn Hospital, Bloomfield.

Born Nov. 14, 1947, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Richard and Anna Finsinger Kelly.

A Penn Hills graduate, he received his bachelor's degree from St. Vincent College and his master's degree from Duquesne University. A member of Monroeville Assembly of God, where he was a deacon, Mr. Kelly also was a commander with Royal Rangers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Teodori Kelly.

He is survived by his wife, Fern Rowley Kelly; children, Megan Kelly and her husband, Joseph Hartnett, of the North Side, Bridget Harmon and her husband, David, of Erie, and Laura Kelly of the North Side; sisters, Patricia Kelly and Maureen Scott; brother, Dennis Kelly; and stepgrandson, Eli Harmon.

Friends and family were received at Burket-Truby Funeral Home Cremation and Alternative Services Inc. A service was held in Monroeville Assembly of God. Entombment was in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Penn Hills.

Jessie Chorvat
Former seamstress

Jessie M. "Girlie" Chorvat, 77, of Penn Hills, died May 9, 2008, in Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville.

Born in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of George and Jessie Schmidt Zechender.

She was a former seamstress at Ruby's Dry Cleaners.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Carl Wilson Moucheron and John Chorvat.

Surviving are her children, Carl Moucheron Jr. and Diane Sherba; sister, Sarah Cooper; brother, John Zechender; and six grandchildren.
