On campus: Pharmacy student at Pitt recipient of white coat
Barbara Drago, a University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy student, received her white coat from Dean Patricia Kroboth.
The white coat ceremony is a symbolic event that marks the entry of first-year pharmacy students, who declare their commitment to integrity, ethical behavior and honor.
Drago also wrote a paper and gave a poster presentation, "The Power of Patient-Centered Care," at Pennsylvania Pharmacist Association's mid-year conference in Harrisburg. A 2005 Penn Hills High School graduate, Drago was among six students out of 107 in her class representing Pitt at the event.
Sweeney
Kara Sweeney was on the fall-semester dean's list at Westminster College in New Wilmington.
A junior majoring in elementary education, she is a 2005 Penn Hills High School graduate.
Her sister, Kirsten, was on the fall-semester dean's list at Community College of Allegheny County-Boyce Campus.
She is a 2007 Penn Hills High School graduate.
The students are the daughters of Scott and Bonnie Sweeney of Penn Hills.
Cesaratto
Ashley Cesaratto, a senior majoring in music at Westminster College in New Wilmington, took part in a vocal competition sponsored by Tri-State Chapter of National Association of Teachers of Singing.
A Penn Hills High School graduate, she is the daughter of Dale and Dawn Cesaratto.
Tamburino
Jessica Tamburino has been accepted for fall admission to Gannon University in Erie.
She will be an occupational therapy major.
A Penn Hills High School student, she is active in Key Club.
Jessica also serves as a youth leader at Hebron United Presbyterian Church.
She is the daughter of Bernadette Tamburino.
