Mother Rabbit

The children's library will start National Library Week with a visit from Mother Rabbit next Monday.

The event for children ages 3 to 7 will run from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Mother Rabbit will share stories from her favorite books and her life with her family, especially her son, Peter.

Storytimes, chess

Parents can bring children to the library on Wednesdays for storytimes at 1:30 p.m. and chess lessons at 6:30 p.m.

Planetarium for kids

Carnegie Science Center's Unisphere Planetarium will come to the library's DeLuca Community Room on April 19.

Two programs will be presented in the inflatable planetarium -- one from noon to 12:45 p.m. for children ages 3 to 5, the other from 1 to 1:45 p.m. for children in grades one through three.

Earth Day, Arbor Day

Sandy Copeland, master gardener, will lead activities celebrating Earth Day and Arbor Day for children ages 3 to 7 at 6:30 p.m. on April 21 at the library.

Children will plant seeds and make bird feeders using pine cones.
