Indians to face Vikings on FSN

Fox Sports Pittsburgh again will broadcast McDonald's High School Football on Thursdays in 2008 and the Plum, Penn Hills and Gateway football teams will be a part of the action.

The fourth season of live broadcasts on FSN will begin with Erie McDowell at Seneca Valley on Sept. 4.

Plum will travel to Franklin Regional on Sept. 18, while Penn Hills will play Pittsburgh Central Catholic at Carnegie Mellon University on Oct. 2.

McKeesport travels to Gateway to renew their rivalry on Oct. 23.

All FSN Thursday games kick off at 7 p.m.

The schedule also includes three weeks of Friday WPIAL playoff games and the four WPIAL championship games on Nov. 22.

"The WPIAL is home to some of the best high school football players and teams in the country," said Ted Black, FSN senior vice president/ general manager.

"With an exciting lineup of marquee area matchups, FSN Pittsburgh is looking forward to another year of showcasing the rich tradition of Western Pennsylvania football."

FSN's Thursday coverage will begin with a pregame Savran on SportsBeat at 6:30 p.m. The Trib Total Media High School Edition will air live after each game for post-game analysis and a look ahead to Friday's WPIAL contests.

Other games on the Thursday night high school schedule include Beaver Falls at Aliquippa (Sept. 11), Highlands at Mars (Sept. 25), North Allegheny at Pine-Richland (Oct. 9) and Montour at Hopewell (Oct. 16).
