Theodore Yots
Served in both WW II, Korea

Theodore J. Yots, 80, of Penn Hills, died April 21, 2008.

Mr. Yots served in both World War II and Korea. He was a member of Verona Eagles, Verona Moose and Verona Masons No. 548.

His wife, Beatrice Pokorny Yots, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his brother, Bob Yots of Penn Hills; sister, Mary Jane Jenkins of Sagerstown; nieces, Sue Yots, Marlene Jenkins and Gabrielle Bradshaw; aunt and uncle, Mary and Frank Harviten; and cousin, Mitzie Harvatin.

Friends were received at English Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., Oakmont.

Ann Hershey
Taught first grade

Ann Wadsworth Hershey, 93, of Penn Hills, died April 21, 2008.

A Slippery Rock University graduate, she was a first-grade teacher for many years with Penn Hills School District.

Mrs. Hershey was an active member of Unity Community Church, Plum.

Her husband, Charles Hershey, preceded her in death.

Surviving are her children, Margaret Bruneck and her husband, Charles, of Plum, Joan Broste and her husband, David, of Denver, Carolyn Redfield and her husband, John, of Houston and Robert Hershey and his wife, Jill, of Murrysville; and nine grandchildren.

A memorial service was held in Unity Community Church. Arrangements were handled by English Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., Oakmont.

Elizabeth Mator
Lived to age 103

Elizabeth Mator, 103, of Oakmont, died April 26, 2008.

Mrs. Mator was a longtime member of St. Irenaeus Church and was active in its Christian Mothers group.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Joseph Mator; and children, Anthony, Louis, Mary and Daniel Mator.

She is survived by her children, John and his wife, Dorothy, of New Kensington, Richard and his wife, Leona, of Plum, Edward of New Kensington and Rose and Joan Mator, both of Oakmont; 21 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Friends were received at English Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., Oakmont. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Irenaeus Church, Oakmont.

Janet Yoder
Johnstown native

Janet R. Yoder, 78, of Penn Hills, died April 18, 2008, in McLean, Va.

She was born June 1, 1929, in Johnstown.

She spent the majority of her adult life in the Pittsburgh area before moving to Virginia four years ago.

Mrs. Yoder was an active member of Penn Hills Alliance Church, where she sang in the choir. In her younger years, she taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school.

A volunteer for more than 25 years at UPMC Shadyside, she enjoyed gardening, traveling to see the wild ponies in Chincoteague, Va., and working crossword and jigsaw puzzles.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Alton Yoder; and parents, Walter and Alice McCartney.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Bonk and her husband, Ben; and a sister, Joanne Thomas and her husband, Earl.

Rosa Parrotta
Native of Italy

Rosa Parrotta, 85, of Penn Hills, died April 25, 2008.

She was born in Catanzaro, Italy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carmine Parrotta; and siblings, Carmela Brogneri, Ada Giglio and Joseph Cosentino.

She is survived by her children, Nicola Parrotta and his wife, Elvina, Louis Parrotta, Enrico Parrotta and his wife, Nancy, and Rosemary Petrucci and her husband, John; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was at Burket-Truby Funeral Home Cremation & Alternative Services Inc., Oakmont. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Bartholomew Church, Penn Hills. Interment was at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Verona. Arrangements were handled by Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home Inc., Natrona Heights.

Ruth Hasley
Eastern Star member

Ruth Hasley, 82, of Penn Hills, died April 25, 2008.

Mrs. Hasley was a member of Order of Eastern Star.

Her husband, William Hasley, preceded her in death.

Surviving are her children, Linda Breneman and her husband, Karl, and James Hasley and his wife, Susan; sister, Betty McGinley; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Nicole Zuro

PHHS, CCAC graduate

Nicole Marie Zuro, 30, of Penn Hills, died April 24, 2008.

She was a graduate of Penn Hills High School and Community College of Allegheny County-Boyce Campus.

Ms. Zuro was employed at Family Eye Care in Penn Hills. She was at a black-belt level in tae kwon do.

She is survived by her parents, Eugene and Nancy Zuro; brother, Eugene M. Zuro and his wife, Rhonda; sister, Jeanna Shock and her husband, Thomas; grandmother, Dolores Baronich of North Tona-wanda, N.Y.; cousin, Todd Zuro; and friend, Helen Hayn.

Robert Repasi Sr.
Worked at D'Imperio's

Robert J. Repasi Sr., 51, of Penn Hills, died April 24, 2008.

Mr. Repasi was a former employee of D'Imperio's in Wilkins.

His father, Steve Repasi, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his children, Robert Repasi Jr. and his wife, Vanessa, of Virginia, and Nicholas and Justin Repasi, both of Latrobe; mother, Cecilia Miedzielka Repasi of Wilkins; sister, Lori Fedorchak; and brothers, David and John Repasi

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. John Fisher Church. Arrangements were handled by Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home, East Pittsburgh.

Rose Stanton
Grandmother of eight

Rose E. Stanton, 89, of Penn Hills, died April 26, 2008.

Her husband, Robert Stanton Sr., preceded her in death.

She is survived by her children, Robert Stanton Jr. and his wife, Linda, Gerry McDowell and her husband, Ed, and Rose Marie Christenson and her husband, Richard; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Friends were received at Rapp Funeral Home Inc., Penn Hills.

James Troutman
Moved to Florida

James H. Troutman, 93, of Port Orange, Fla., formerly of Plum, died April 21, 2008, at Hospice of Volusia in Florida.

Born Oct. 8, 1914, in Greenville, he was the son of James and Callie Kiser Troutman.

Mr. Troutman was a retired steelworker.

Preceding him in death were his daughter, Jeanne Elizabeth Beiber; brother, Edward Troutman; and sister, Shirley Troutman.

Surviving are two granddaughters.

Arrangements were handled by Burket-Truby Funeral Home Cremation and Alternative Services Inc., Oakmont. Interment of cremains was at Verona Cemetery, Oakmont.

Stanley Allen
Grandfather of two

Stanley W. "Mouse" Allen, 83, of Penn Hills, died April 22, 2008.

His brother, Roger Wilson, preceded him in death.

Surviving are his wife, Marian Allen; children, S. Cornell and Celeste Allen; siblings, Frank Cornelius, Barbara Keen, James Poindexter, Joanne Weather and George and Evonne Allen; and two grandchildren.

Visitation was at Rapp Funeral Home, Penn Hills. A celebration of his life was held at St. Mark AME Church in Wilkinsburg.

Antonio Teti
Married 61 years

Antonio "Tony" Teti, 81, of Penn Hills, died April 25, 2008.

He was born March 23, 1927, in Filogauso, Italy.

Mr. Teti came to the United States as an immigrant in 1954. He apprenticed as a bricklayer and worked as a plaster foreman for Siciliano Interiors.

He later formed his own company, Teti Plastering. He specialized in intricate plaster, even working with an artist from the Vatican at a Pittsburgh basilica.

Mr. Teti enjoyed his retirement. He was a member of American Legion Post 351 and an avid bocce player, known as "The Champ." He loved to be outdoors and throughout his garden, he had birdbaths and ceramics he created. He also was a big Penguins fan.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Maria Romeo Teti; children, Frank Teti and his wife, Lori, Mary Freeman and her husband, Bill, Antoinette Miller and Linda Mason and her husband, Keith; brother, Guiseppe Teti; family members, Jason LaFrankie and Kent Blum; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Friends were received at Rapp Funeral Home, Penn Hills. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Bartholomew Parish, Penn Hills. Interment was at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Penn Hills.
